3rd year elective in US

Hello.

I'm a 3rd year medical student from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and I'd like to do my elective at the end of 3rd year somewhere in the US.

My plan is to do the elective for one month and then travel around the US for the following month. Is there any place in the US that's nice both from a tourism point of view and also with a good hospital that's relatively easy to get into and also has a good reputation?

I'm planning to do an elective course after being done the 3rd year too, next year in July/August. But as general only students who are in the 4th year and final year are eligible for the programs. Check out this site : http://services.aamc.org/eec/students/
