Wondering what my chances are with a 4.0 c/sGPA and a 29R (10BS-9PS-10VS)

Double major psychology/biology - full time math/sciences tutor for the last 3 years

Still shadowing (psychiatrist, family/general practitioner/orthopedic surgeon) - approx 50 hours so far.

Two years of volunteering at a hospital in the children's emergency room, adult emergency room and now am in the children's psychiatric ward and training for the young adult/adult psychiatric ward.

Cancer research for the past year in an NYC lab as well as psychiatric research program (Mcnair) for the last 2 years.

Received my MCAT score today and I am sorely disappointed, but taking it again is not an option so I will have to try and get in with what I've got.

I will be applying to all medical schools in NY (resident) and possibly OOS, for Fall '13 (I am doing a psychiatric internship at a hospital in Westchester,NY for one year which delays my application, hopefully for the better) but I don't want to be too far from my husband.

Well you'd be a little better off if you retook the MCAT, but since you say it isn't an option, I still think you have a good shot (although maybe not at a top school)

It would be nice to see some non-medical community service between now and your application date to round out your application. It would also be good to get some peer leadership in before application as well

The OP will be fine. Might not get into top schools or WashU, but a 4.00 GPA with double major and a complete set of EC's is nothing to scoff at, regardless of the MCAT.

AAMC data from the last three years suggests that All Applicants with 4.0/29, had a > 74% chance of an acceptance to an MD school.
