Hey guys,
Just taking a survey. How many of you work on 28 day ED blocks and how many do month long rotations?

UC Davis was four week blocks when I was there. I have pointed out several times that my residency info is getting more dated all the time.

EM rotations at 4 different institutions this year - 3 were 26 days (start on Monday, end on friday of the 4th week) and the other would have been the same but I hustled to get all my shifts in during the first 3 weeks so it was 21 days.

Our residents are on 4 week blocks. thus they get 13 blocks per year.

Was this the Med Student rotation? or was it the same schedule that the residents were following?

I assume someone was working those weekends in between it just wasn't you.

We are currently on a monthly schedule but the program is switching to a four week schedule at the end of the year to better mesh with the other programs in the hospital.
