I enrolled into kaplan a few months ago.. HORRIBLE experience.. my tutor was very degrading towards me and made me feel stupid (she would make me look like an idiot in front of everyone in my library saying OMG YOU DON'T KNOW THAT??) THANKS KAPLAN!!.. I did everything she assigned and I explained to her that I haven't taken the pre-req classes in over 3 years, so that I would really be starting from scratch and Kaplan was like "ohhh yeahh of course we handle this allllllllllll the timee". Long story short, they obviously DON'T handle it all the time and I couldn't take it anymore and told them I don't want this lady she DOESNT do anything to help, she sits there and does NOTHING. now i don't have a tutor and feel like I am not getting anywhere.. truth of the matter, I'm pretty sure I'm better off w/o a tutor.. I know, I was stupid to even hire one.. anyways..

diagnostic: 14 (no studying at all) 🙁
free kaplan test at school: 13 (wtf? this is a month after studying and with this kaplan tutor) ;(

right now: WORRIED!!!!!! FREAAAAKING OUT!!!!!!!!

I also feel like I have too many materials..

I have all the online Kaplan assignments, Barrons AP BIO, Crack dat Ace Bundle, Kaplan white book, Chads vids, and DAT DESTROYER 2010

Can someone please advise me on the best way to utilize my time and materials?? Am I in bad shape???????? omg Thank you!

You are fine there is still 45 days left... I am not sure about the kaplan diagnostics but if you want an accurate assesment get the top score pro which has 3 full length tests.

As far as studying...I have Study Plan Guide on my blog (http://dentaldat.blogspot.com/2011/03/dat-study-plan-suggestions.html) The plans are to help guide you and make your own study plan. If you don't have certain materials switch them for what you do have...

Gen Chem/ Ochem
1. Watch Chad's Videos (take notes and memorize formulas)
2. Use kaplan for basic information / practice problems
3. Go through Destroyer 2 + times ==It will be difficult but the second or third time it should be much easier. Just go slow and make sure you understand how to do the problems.

PAT
Just do CDP-- If you are doing poor on them study the ones you have already done...Look up some strategies on SDN, Kaplan, Blogs or where everelse.

MATH
Not sure if you have math destroyer... but before you do that make an outline using ADA Guide to DAT and fill it in with all the necessary formulas you need to know. Then do as many practice problems as you can.

Biology
If you memorize cliffs ap biology you should do ok but supplement it with kaplan and destroyer and you will do great. This is all about memorizing and understanding the concepts. Don't get hung up on small details.

Reading
Look up some strategies and just practice whatever works for you on your practice tests...

Get Top Score Pro and DAT Achiever for extra full length practice exams. Top score pro is the most accurate and DAT Achiever is more difficult but a great study tool...

Thanks philippines! You have made me feel a lot better. I don't have Cliffs, but have Barrons AP.. will that work? Also, I have a mac and topscore is not compatible with it 🙁 I really want topscore tho

I have heard that barron's does a good job too...Never used it though.

Do you live close to parents or other family with a pc/laptop? If you do you can get it and install it on their computer as long as they would have the understanding that you would need to take the full length test 3 times and plus spend time studying the answers (can't remember if you can print them off or no, some one let me know).

Otherwise if you are not close to family I would try to find a good friend that would let you use their computer (maybe even another predent that way you could split the cost)... I think for topscore in order to reuse the test you would just have to unistall/reinstall it inorder to clear the answers if two of you wanted to take the same test (correct me if I am wrong/ask top score if you can take the test more than once).

unfortunately all my family live in a different state. I got crack the DAT tests for everything.. i heard they were pretty good except the science was just too hard compared to the real thing.. i have a windows laptop but it's not working.. i think i will go to best buy or something to see if they can fix it.. of course my warranty ended as soon as it crashed lol

There is something called Window VMware that helps you run Window on Mac but you should ask topscore about this before you buy anything.
