MD 498 to 516 MCAT retake WAMC/School List help

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Welcome to the forums.

Include all HBCU schools (Howard, Charles Drew).

I don't understand your clinical experience "treating symptoms..." for 1100 hours. What does this involve?

I'm going to ask why you aren't interested in careers in the rehab therapies: OT, PT, AuD, SLP.

You need 150 hours minimum of service orientation activities. Boost your food distribution activity up to 150 hours (description dependent) before applying.

Are you connected with SNMA or any mentoring organization supporting aspiring Black physicians? Have you applied for any scholarships we have posted in our Underrepresented forum? Have you gone to any recruitment events?

The 1100 hours job has a very specific title/description and elaborating will definitely give away my employer and might give away my identity so I don’t want to say exactly what it is, but it’s kind of like a rehab aide. I will say that I work alongside SLPs, physicians, and psychologists.

I’m not interested in the rehab therapies because I would like to have more of a role in the diagnostic side. I also would like to directly treat physiological causes of issues/complications (like nervous system dysfunction etc.) instead of trying to make functional improvements. But I have considered those careers in the past!

I also can’t increase the hours of the food justice activity because it was from my undergrad experience.

Also, I haven’t heard of SNMA before. I will look into it and into scholarships on the other fourm as well. I haven’t gone to recruitment events because I didn’t know they were worth attending, I will be on the lookout for some in the future!
