I just encountered a problem on CDP, test 4, #59 which has 5 folding patterns!!!! Is this on DAT? Reviewing my test at the moment and just left this one because couldn't follow the fold, cosequently couldn't predict the punches!😱

nope...DAT hole punch is really easy
no half-holes either lol.
just basic triangular folds and half-folds and stuff.

Thanks. That sounds encouraging. Yet, folks say that CDP is very indicative?..but I'll get your word since it appeals to me better 😉.
On the other hand, I am not getting the cube counting method of Kaplan..Yes, I make a tally from 1-5, then count up the sides then compare the sum of the sides to what? ..to the actual # of cubes? It doesn't work for me.. Even in the example in the book it sais 'the entries add up to 22, which we can varify with the number of cubes in the object' BUT 'the object' has 27 sides??????
Any ideas?

are u sure bc ive heard of half holes on real dat, and that its abt on par with cdp...can someone else corroborate iamgosu's claim ::crossing fingers:: lolol

Half holes don't worry me too much, but let's say if there are too many folds--then it becomes complicated!

lol i feel u, CDP test 4 is next for me cant wait for # 59 haha...we'll see how it goes but im glad cdp is harder bc its only gonna feel better come test day, but yes 5 folds is nuts regardless

i don't know abt the specific example u mention, however for cube counting the tally system works...just make ur table from 1-5 and then when counting the sides make sure u follow with ur mouse, so when u leave the screen to look mark ur table u come back and know where u were this helped me A LOT, i don't even count the total sum of cubes anymore its a waste of time if u follow with ur mouse when u count the sides u should be good to go!

EDIT: also, u say ur adding up the sum of the sides i think they mean to add the sum of the cubes so when u look at ur table and count how many 2 sided, 3 sided, 4 sided u have etc...it should add up to the same amount of total cubes.

uhh there are half folds on the american DAT. Its obviously rare, but I had one on mine. It was pretty simple though, so I wouldn't worry about it. They are kind of rare.

how is the visual layout different on the real DAT for hole punching? I have heard it's hard to tell where they punch the holes?! For those that have already taken the DAT is that true? Can anyone give me an example if this is the case? Thanks!

also, is it good to go over ur CDP tests a day after uve taken it? or don't go over it at all and just keep practicing...I'm hesitant to go over them bc i dont wanna remember answers if i wanna do them over again, what's the best way to get the score up?

Yea, that is a good question--I would like to hear how others have done it..
I go over them on the next day or sometimes right away..
