Hey guys. when do DO schools begin interviewing? (I'm applying for 2009) class and I am wondering when is the latest date I can take the MCAT so I would still be considered really really early for application cycle?

really really early would be finishing ACOMAS as soon as humanly possible.i think they start accepting them in early june (june 1 maybe?)

that being said you can fill out all your ACOMAS information with out having your MCAT scores so that all you have to do is send them and then you are complete.... thats what i plan on doing.

i dont know exactly when they start interviewing but my guess is sept? just a guess though.
 
to be really, really, early I wouldn't take the MCAT any later than early June. Judging by lasts years interview thread, the earliest interviews seemed to be mid September. Some schools weren't till much later though. I want to be really early and am taking the MCAT on May 23rd. I'm also applying for a fee waiver which will take a few weeks anyway, so I figured I might as well postpone the MCAT. If I wasn't applying for a fee waiver I probably would take the MCAT earlier because I'm anal like that and I would want everything complete by June 1.
 
Really really really early gains you NOTHING unless your score is good. Plan your test date around when you'll be ready to do well.

How to tell you're going to do well? Anytime you want (now would be good!) take a practice test on www.e-mcat.com. Take lots! When you're scoring ABOVE your goal then you're ready to take the test.
 
A friendly suggestion: you will likely get more and better responses by giving your thread an appropriate title. This will also make it easier for future searchers to find info. 🙂
 
I took mine May 31st and was early enough for every school to be included in the first round of interviews for most of the schools I applied to. I'm not so sure that would have been the case if I had taken it June 30th. I'm not sure but that is about where you would no longer be really, really, really early and maybe just early.
