Hi everyone, thanks for looking into my question

I'm currently torn between submitting my AMCAS on the 10th vs on the 17th. Here's my predicament.

I'm leaving town Saturday morning on a week long mission trip. My AMCAS is ready to go, but I am considering waiting and including this experience on my primary. I have gone on one mission trip in the past, and talked about it in my personal statement. I feel like this second trip would be good for showing I am serious about my motivations for missions.

Do you think waiting would be worth it? Will it hurt me in any way?

Waiting a week to submit will not hurt you in any significant way. If you believe the experience will add to your application, you should definitely wait to submit. 👍

Edit: This is from a guy with a 3.9 GPA and a 36 MCAT whose reason for not getting accepted last year was delaying submitting the application.

A week, especially this early, won't hurt you.

Wait the week and add it to your application if you'd like.

Around when does submitting late start hurting you? Late june? Early july?

It takes a month to get verified. I'd say that you should shoot for being verified by mid-August. I think that gives you enough time to finish secondaries and get them in.

Honestly though, I was verified by mid-July, and I felt like it was perfect.

Thanks for your responses everybody. I appreciate it!

what mid august verification is not great, its average to average/late

Exactly, it's not great.

The question was "when does it start to hurt you?" I think if you're looking for the absolute LATEST, I'd say early to mid-August.

Rule of thumb is to submit by mid/early-July.
