just finished the DAT and im really pleased with my score.

PAT 21
QR 24
RC 25
Bio 20
GC 27
OC 26
TS 24
AA 24 ship ittt, one point away from getting a 25! owell

PAT was harder than I thought, more similar to achiever than kaplan or TS.
QR also harder than I thought, a few more word problems than any of the practice tests.
RC was definitely on par with achiever, lots of straight forward objective questions
Bio was hard, lots of weird questions, just have a good breadth of knowledge as others have said, probably easier than achiever
GC very straight forward, easier than TS, Kaplan, and Achiever i think
OC was also very straight forward, also easier than the practice tests

Practice Test Scores: The order I took them in was Kaplan/A1/TS1/A2/TS2/A3/TS3.
Kaplan Diagnostic/Achiever1/2/3/Topscore1/2/3
AA 23/22/20/22/22/23/23
PA 23/17/19/21/26/23/23
QR 30/29/29/29/29/29/26
RC 18/22/21/23/23/25/23
Bio 20/16/15/16/17/19/18
GC 24/23/19/25/23/21/28
OC 2321/19/28/20/21/21
TS 22/19/18/20/20/21/21

Some thoughts on the studying process:
i started with the kaplan book, definitely worthwhile to have. Then did the destroyer, which i highly highly recommend to anyone (youre killing yourself if you dont have this). Practice tests are also paramount as it really does make you comfortable with the testing environment. Reviewing all the problems you did incorrectly will help you to get better (VERY IMPORTANT!). I started my hardcore studying 41 days before the test, I did read this forum very often even before I started my test to get an idea of what I should be doing, and I had laid out my schedule from the time I started till my test date and kept to it. doing that should keep you motivated to stay on pace.. getting behind is obviously bad =P. Any Questions? Ask away!

Congrats on a job well done! How would you say OC and GC compared to Destroyer? I have been using that and Kaplan purple book for those.

What did you use to study for bio? Any recommendations as to how to prepare for it?

Also, was gchem mostly conceptual?

What was your study habits? (hr/day etc)

Ridiculous scores by the way 😱😱

Thanks 😀

OC and GC were easier, definitely. A step below TS and Achiever as well. When I took the test, I felt like OC and GC were extremely straight forward. If you understand all of Kaplan/Destroyer/TS/Achiever, you'll be straight. I had seen every problem that appeared on the DAT somewhere before.

NuckingFutz, I decided i wanted to finish the blue book in 20 days, it took me longer than expected. I did 75 pages a day of GC and OC, so it took me i think 3 days each to get thru those. After finishing GC i finished destroyer GC, and after OC, i finished destroyer OC. it plugged up any holes. Bio was a lot more grueling, i hate bio btw. Prolly like 30-40 pgs a day. Then did practice tests. I took my diagnostic after i finished studying, maybe i shouldnt have? i dunno. I think you should use your resources wisely, and taking the test before you know anything seems silly. gchem spanned everything, definitely know your stuff. n thanks yo =]

Isn't this awesome? Everyone is doing well! Yay~! 😀

tarheelkid, thanks a lot 🙂 I hope to start on my personal statement soon, and since I'm not a particularly good writer I hope that it doesn't hurt my application too much =x

u a math major, thats one killer QR

haha nah but i did math competition type stuff in high school so it helped a lot. =] i was hoping to do better on math but it had more word problems than i thought it would. i'm a chem major at UF =]

these scores are nutts! Was it like this last year? Everyone is posting 20+ scores everyday. Good job ET .

Man, I better get crackin!

ET...I'd say as long as you have a solid GPA then you should be fine with your PS. I spent a lot of time on mine because I am not such a great writer either but I just wanted a "solid" PS i.e. one that wouldn't take away from the rest of my application but most likely wouldn't make me stand out too much either. I'm HOPING the rest of my application can do the talking but we'll see...

According to predents.com, last year, about 35% of people registered got 20 or above in AA. It's only about 14% when you look at 2007 official DAT score frequency table. I know that there are some hidden factors that we need to consider for this comparison, but it still proves that SDN and predents.com are not good sample pools.

And on predents.com, there were 28 people with 24+ of AA. But on the 2007 official freq table, there were only 26.... 😕
Some will say that some of them must have taken their tests before 2007.
But, it's also possible that some people applying in this cycle might have taken it in 2007 and got 24+. Does this mean almost everyone with high scores are registered members of predents.com? I don't know.
