Hello SDNers. I was wondering what I should do for 6 weeks I have left.
So far I finished campells biology (3months ago), completed making flash cards for Feralis note, watched chad vid twice (I havent watched for two months so I think I should consider rewatching it for like 10 days) , done destroyer twice. I am saving BC FL for last 2 weeks. I finished 10 Math destroyer exams and 10 CDP PAT, and havent touched them since a month ago

My main goal is to review concepts I forgot and memorizing flash cards I have made so far, as well as picking up my pace on QR and PAT

What do you guys recommend I do for the next 6 weeks? Thank you and happy studying!

Sounds like you've got most of the basics down. Keep spending some time with PAT every day, review Math Destroyer exams, maybe rewatch Chads videos at 2x speed for a quick review and focus on your weaker areas. Take 2009 DAT a couple of days before the test.

thank you! Any tips of revewing the stuffs ive forgotten??

For the people who used flash cards for studying... How did you make flash cards for destroyer? Sometimes I just remember the answer I feel like its not efficient... And how did you divide up time on reviewing flash cards/ practice exam/ PAT/ Chad vid?

I feel like I am wasting too much time reviewing the flash cards because I am having a hard time turning them into long term memories 🙁

I forget them after like 3 days

Flash cards for which section on destroyer?

Flash cards for which section on destroyer?

Gen chem and orgo

I skipped bio because i already had 500+ flash Cards on feealis and didnt wanna go overboard. If i have time at the end, i will prolly do destroyers bio and incorporate that with feralis

If you don't mind me asking, when did you start studying for the DAT and how long did you spend on an average each day? I am planning on completing the same material and was wondering how long it would take?

So it sounds like you have a pretty good base in bio with feralis, but I'd still recommend going through the Destroyer bio at least once. It has a tonnnn of good info in it. I Made a flash card for every single one of the reactions from the roadmaps in the OC section as well as a couple problems that I starred. Then I went through my notes I made from Chad's videos and made a card for everything I thought was worth knowing. For GC, I didn't make any from Destroyer and it probably shows because it was my worst section (21). I only made flashcards from chad's for GC and also only went through the GC section of the destroyer once when I went through the others at least twice.

Too long and too much

I started in January and did 4-6 hours a day depending on classes I had that day... But i had to skip a couple weeks because of school exams. I definately do NOT recommend doing Feralis 100% unless someone has a lot of time like me. Way too much time and way too much info.

Did you mainly make flash cards on concepts? I feel like I got down most of the calculation/problem solving questions but need to focus on getting concepts down since I may have forgotten the details..

Give me an example of a a concept you don't feel 100% on and I can give you examples of the kinds of note cards I made. I made some for the crazy formulas I just decided to memorize but then I also made some for things like lab techniques where I would write a sentence and then write in a blank with the answer on the back. Like for either acid/base extraction or chromatography or all the other stuff. So I made it for all things but just let me know and I can give you an example.

Make sure you actually learn the material. Sure, flash cards are nice (esp. for Bio), but life will be less stressful if you actually learn the mechanics behind the GC and OC reactions/problems. Six weeks is still more than enough time to accomplish that since you have already studied. Personally, I do not see the appeal of making flash cards of the Destroyer problems, especially for GC/OC. It is such an invaluable resource... Instead of memorizing it just go through it several times and understand the concepts and questions within.

I will be taking the DAT around the same time as you (June 13th)... Best of luck (and back to studying)!

Wow thank you so much for trying to help me!

I keep forgetting what afeects vapor pressure and what doesnt.. Like I know that IMF and temperature affect the vapor pressure, but when another choice is thrown in (surface area) I would also think that that might affect the vapor pressure too

So surface area does not affect vapor pressure (as far as I know; pretty sure I'm correct though). That was probably just thrown in there in order to trip you up. For those kinds of things I think my flash cards were something like this. Front: Increase in IMF Back: Increase in BP, MP, Viscosity, Surface Tension; Decrease in VP. And then I had some other cards with pressure and temperature curves of certain molecules with the different points numbered like triple point and critical point and stuff like that. So if you can get a good grasp on those concepts then you'll understand how temperature affects vapor pressure. Also another good key thing to understand is volatility and how the relates to these topics just discussed. That's a word I'd completely forgotten about before I stumbled across it while studying.

Thank you I really appreciate your input!!

I am going to look up volatility because I dont specifically recall chad teaching me about it haha
