Anyone has idea what's difference in medical course for 4 years (e.g. in USA), 5 years(e.g. UK), and 6 years(e.g. singapore)?
Are students having same level after graduate?

thanks.

The 6 and 5 year courses are basically undergraduate courses, with students entering directly from high school. Therefore, usually they incorporate more basic science work in the first couple years (ie. biology, chemistry, physics). The US 4-yr programs are graduate programs so you start learning specific medically-specific subjects from the start because it is assumed and expected that you have had previous college-level experience (ie. incorporated into a previous undergraduate degree) in core subjects (biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics) that lead to better understanding of the medical subjects.

There are pros and cons of completing an undergraduate degree before medicine or not. They have been discussed in other threads extensively.

If someone from the US with a previous undergrad degree chooses to enter a 5 or 6 year UK/rest of world program, they may be eligible to skip years.

I am applying at sum med colleges rite now...i really need sum help w/ that man...ya im kinda wonderin where 2 apply aside from Ireland...u noe lik 6 yr programs...im kinda desperate man...kinda ******ed w/ tha whole lookin..can you guys hook me up with some places you know? sorry for the bad language. THANKS

People don't realise this, but the US 4 yr graduate model of med education is actually based on the 6 yr undergraduate model of med eduction. Your pre-med years in the US roughly equate to about 2 yrs. So in reality, the US 4 yr model is roughly (2 yrs Premed + 4 yrs graduate med = 6 years). Some schools (ex: Penn St, Univ of Miami, Michigan, etc) also do a 6 year undergraduate MD program. They are accredited by the LCME and highly revered in their research departments.
