Are certain osteopathic schools given more regard in AOA residency slots?
Meaning does the osteopathic school that you go to influence how one is regarded when applying for osteopathic residency?

I am not looking for a list of good schools but rather is there a school which osteopathic residencies look more favorably upon?

~and ya, this might be a dumb question-

Theoretically the answer should be no.

However, because of the way the OPTI system is set up, there may be an expectation that students from NYCOM, for example, have an advantage when applying for residencies in NYCOMEC hospitals. This is my own speculation, however.

Your grades and board scores are the most important factor. If those are in place, it doesn't matter where you went to school. You should pick a school based on other factors like location, cost, rotations, curriculum, etc. Good luck to you!:luck:

From what I have gathered from current residents, it is the audition rotation that is important (not necessarily the school).
