I feel depressed about this. Although, I did score 84% on my lecture midterm, I still don't think these are the kinds of marks to get into dentistry. Anyone agree/disagree with me?

84 is not a bad score...only 6 points away from an A-. Keep working and you'll be just fine!

which bio course is it?

Thanks, Don. The course is BIOL 121 Introductory Zoology.

Neil45, you're not attending Malaspina University-College by any chance, are you?

I think we've all had discouraging marks somewhere along the line, but the key is perseverance.

I've had a few marks I wasn't very pleased with but I never got upset with myself.

I made it my goal to find out why it is I got the mark in the first place and what I could do to improve upon it.

Of the things I learnt last year in my first year of undergrad the lesson I took home with me the most was to avoid stress by any means and try to laugh a little.

Good luck and don't ever doubt yourself.

Thanks, Shane. 🙂 Wow, how did you know which University I go to? You a psychic or something?

You a psychic or something?

Among other things..

No... I recognized the course code for Introductory Zoology. I took it last year.

If you've got any more questions feel free to ask.

Just continue working hard. My freshman and sophmore years of college I didn't do too well, mostly Bs. My problem was that I wasn't studying well. I'd just rewrite my notes the day before the exam and go over them once if that. Then junior year I realized that the trick is to rewrite my notes 2 days before the exam and then review my notes at least 3 times. Magically all my Bs turned into As. You have to find what works for you. Being a lab assistant I can tell you that not enough students come for help, so I highly suggest you do that. Most lab instructors are more than willing to answer any questions and some will even outline what will be on the lab exam and might give you little hints on what to emphisize on.
Good luck!
