I originally started at a well-known university as a history/philosophy major. However, due to family illness and death I missed quite a lot of school and did not do well in my junior year first semester (FA in one class). I transferred to another school to pursue a nursing major, thinking I would be better able to help people by going into healthcare. I am graduating this year (after 6 years haha) with a bachelors in nursing and 3.4 gpa.
I am planning to start the pre-reqs for med school in the fall. I have had A&P I-II and Micro, Chem I-II, Physics I, as well as Pharmacology for Nursing and done well in all (A's maybe one B+).
I will be taking my pre-reqs at a university that has its own medical school and plan on studying hard and continuing to do well academically, continue to volunteer, research with a physics professor I know there, and work full-time as a nurse.
1. Do I have a chance with my crazy academic past?
2. How can I improve whatever chance I have?
