Do you think I need to retake for QR and maybe PAT? Do I stand a chance to get accepted at Case or maybe OSU?

I really reallyyyyy don't want to be mean...but I've seen one HUNDRED posts with this exact same question!!! Why can't people just look at what others have answered...its been said many times that some schools have cutoffs but that QR isn't a make it/break it score. If the overall looks good school's can often overlook QR...please i hope everyone reads this and doesn't keep asking the same question!!!!

Yes Retake... that way I will have less competition...jk... dont even think of a retake

Trust me... even if someone here tells u to retake.. u should not... those are some great scores...

ur fine...dont worry about QR...start applying...

Definitely Retake. You wont get in anywhere with scores like that... you need at least 30 in every section nowadays according to SDN.

d25.

welcome to SDN man. I suggest you do a search of the forums, this issue is brought up eeeeeeeeverywhere.

also, you will mostly just get opinions here which only go so far. I highly recommend calling your target schools today and asking them. It gives you facetime as well as produces real information.

great job on the DAT!

Sorry to be repetitive, but I could not finds any posts about DAT score advice that specifically mentioned Case.

Its hard to find anything in particular about the school atleast under DAT Discussion... u might want to post under different sub forums...

The best approach would be, as the above poster said, call CASE and ask them...

I actually did call them and they didn't tell me much. All the kept saying was that "it depends on you overall application" over and voer, no matter what i asked...

ah. youve encountered general incompetence. it will make you more cynical as you age, welcome to adulthood. It sucks you did not get a caring counselor who is happy with their life.

I advise to apply, and then call the associate dean of admissions once he has your app in front of him. you lose no time by this, you cannot retake for another 90 days anyway.

Thanks for the advice. The thing is, I'm not applying this cycle because I a junior. I will be applying for the 2012 cycle, which leaves me time to retake. However, I will not be as prepared on my retake because I won't have as much time to study, with classes and all.

In Spring they'll announce their average PAT/TS/AA scores, I would just wait til then. For 2010 their averages were: PAT: 20, AA: 19, TS: 19. Average cGPA: 3.60

You slaughtered their AA and TS averages so I would just stick with what you got. Their lowest PAT accepted was 15 which means you're pretty good.

where did you read that? i just read the report on the website today that still has the average of the average dat taker at 17.5. Or is that for accepted students? fuuuuuuudge the bar keeps getting raised every year.

Keep in mind that many top-tier schools have DAT cut off scores.. That 16 QR may push you out of the competition even though all other scores are good.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I will keep my scores.
...Off to enjoy the 3 days of summer I have left

I applied to Case this cycle. I have a 3.6 cum and 3.6 science. My DAT scores were 18/18/20. White male. I got an interview in October. You will be perfectly fine. Just so you know, apply early. Case is one of the first schools to give out interviews, and since they only interview 3 students a day they fill up really fast. Good luck.

**Edited to add, I got a 16 on my QR section, so far I've gotten interviews to Indiana and Case. I would worry about that at all, your GPA and DAT scores are awesome. QR is the least important section.
