8 Goljan lectures for heme?!

Ok... so is it worth it for me to slug through all these? I feel like insanely out of time at this point. I've read through most of RR path alongside school coursework. (Still have a few random chapters left haven't read- like nutrition, immune stuff, etc.) But it's been doable so far.

Now I have this gigantic section on blood stuff-- 8 lectures & I think 5 whole chapters in RR to go through... Why is this topic so over-represented in RR? How long does it take you guys to go through? I'm wondering if the material is worth that much effort... maybe I should spend my energy elsewhere?

I think I listen to the last one tomorrow. I think they've been helpful, but I wouldn't bother if you're short on time. There's a lot to talk about in Hematology so that may be why he spent so much time on it. I think he also mentioned he's done a lot of work in that field so maybe that influenced him as well.

Really depends on how much time you have left. Heme is one of those things that can be tough to understand and there sure is a lot of it. It took me a while to go through all of it, but I definitely had a better understanding of it afterwards.

FA heme was pretty bad in my opinion. Now, if you're really running out of time you prolly don't need to listen to all the goljan heme lectures. That said, you really should listen to them--they're prolly the best lectures out of the set, he's really a master at teaching this subject in particular. If you learn everything in RR path and his lectures, you'll prolly know nearly as much your attendings third year, and even more than some.

Don't get me wrong. I personally loved the Hematology chapters in RR, but when time is short, I'd recommend sticking to FA as opposed to doing all of those chapters in RR. If you have the time for Goljan though, definitely do it.

Yea, it's pretty ridiculous. I'd ditch the audio and stick to the books since time is short.

I would listen to them if possible. Goljan is gold for heme.

If you have the time listen to them! They're a huge help on the exam.
