To fulfill the 8 semester hours of organic chemistry can you complete any two organic chemistry classes or is it mandatory by DO schools to complete the more traditional organic chemistry 1 and organic chemistry 2. Just wondering if I could take a Bio-organic chemistry class to fulfill it.

It's best to email/call the schools you are interested in.

Some schools accept biochem as orgo 2. But not many.

Why not just take the regular organic chemistry? I assume there are very few schools that would take Bio-organic chemistry to fulfill that requirement. The best way to aced Orgo Chem is to make a lot of flash cards 😉.

I just looked up the AACOMAS instructions for inputing your classes and coursework, and it gives about five different courses that fit under the category for organic chemistry. I guess any of these would count as an orgo credit...

Don't guess.

Contact the schools & ask.

AACOMAS classifies the courses into what category they feel is the best fit, this does not necessarily reflect pre-req requirements for the school. You can look at the info book online for the schools if you are considering a lot of them, or contact your school of interest directly.

But you would still put the course in whatever category AACOMAS shows, it is just a way for them to separate out your coursework by GPA and subject.
