Depends. When you say 'move home' does this mean go back to the community college? If so, taking out loans and finishing up where you are would be the smart move. If moving home entails tranferring to another 4 year university then there's no harm in that (though it might cost you another semester or two). If you are prompted about the transfer you have a legitimate reason for doing so and probably won't be interrogated further.
 
If you are applying to go to med school right after college without a gap year, you should have submitted all your application materials the summer before senior year anyway. So the bulk of your application would be done and all that's left would be updates. If not, then you have at least 2 more years to get your ducks in a row again.
 
I mean if you could explain to your the interviewers and on the application about your parent's financial situation, I believe it's more than good enough an answer for moving back and taking classes at your local university, at least according to my school's pre-health advisor.

As for your extracurricular activities yea I guess it would suffer but I would think you could continue volunteering...that tradeoff for maybe lowered EC status for saving money at your local school...I don't know, must be up to you to decide I guess, as we don't know exactly how much your EC status suffers...
