What are people's experiences with the earlier versus later time exam? I am waffling between taking it at 8am or 1pm. Does anyone think anytime is better? I think that I think better in the morning and will be hopefully less tired. Plus, I can party after it is done! But if I do the afternoon then I will have time to exercise my brain a bit before the exam and feel less rushed to get to my exam site. What do you think is better?

I appreciate your thoughts.

Best,

Verónica

I took July 27 and couldn't sleep the night before. Definitely don't do it if you're a nervous test taker like me, or don't respond to caffeine well (also like me).

I took AM and can't imagine taking the afternoon administration. Doing it early I woke up at 5, had a solid breakfast/shower, drove to the prometric site, and got to work. If I'd done the PM I think I would've had way too much time to get nervous and freak out beforehand. Just depends on your schedule and how you work best; I sort enjoy being fueled by adrenaline and caffeine. 🙂

Just make sure to adjust your sleep cycle a week (or three?) in advance if you are going to wake up super early...

At least that is what I am planning on doing.

I'm retaking on May 11 at 1pm. I took it last year at 8am and it was a mistake, I had readjusted my schedule, I was waking up early and taking practice tests the week before, but when it got to the night before the actual test I was so nervous I didn't goto sleep till like 4. Just take those kinds of things into consideration.

It depends on what typr of person you are, I am an early bird I usually go to sleep around 8 pm and woke up at 3 am/ 4 am been like this since high school.

So taking the 8 am test for me isn't a bother.

Sounds like you already know what you want to do. If you think you're going to be thinking better in the morning, do that. I personally am a zombie in the mornings, and I knew immediately that the afternoon test was for me. By this point I'm sure you've taken many exams in your classes in mornings and afternoons. Use that as an indicator as to what you will prefer.

Yeah I agree with everyone above. Preferably, do some practice tests or serious studying with both schedules and see which one you prefer (and do better on) and then decide.
