Special Thanks to DR.Romano, Nancy, Lifeisgood, Grad, manyak222, Uracil and everyone else!! Without your guyses support I dont know how I wouldve ended up.

I used Destroyer, Achiever, topscore, and kaplan for this exam. Destroyer is the best study tool for the REAL DAT hands down! I wish I studied it more rather then taking all these practice exams. Dr. Romano and Nancy are awesome and are always willing to help. If you know the destroyer cold, without a doubt youll hit some high scores (man, i shouldve studied it more!). I thought Achiever was a good motivator and Topscore was good with the testing format but i dont feel that they helped me to much on the real deal. Kaplan is good to get a good foundation to work off of but scrap the class.

DAT: overall I was pretty much freakin out thinking I was going to hit 17-18 on every section. I kept running out of time.

BIO: This section was not to bad. I didnt understand one of the questions. Theres some questions in there that piss you off...like i said...memorize DESTROYER!!!

Gen Chem: This section was so simple it was hard. I remember clicking an answer and pushing next...then previous...then next...then previous..then next...and not changing the answer. Study the basics! If your doing hard calculations your wasting your time. It is so basic its ridiculous.

Ochem: It wasnt to bad, I was expecting to do better and realized some mistakes right as the clock hit 0. Didn't have time to fix it

PAT: Not that bad. I ran out of time and had to do the last 20 questions in 5 minutes. The pattern folding is pretty easy. The angles on the other hand are no joke. Those are ridiculously hard and can trap you and waste your time! be warned...

RC: I got the MG, Cell comm, and Herbal. The first one was sort of difficult. It is not word for word! The rest were easy.

QR: What can I say, Im horrible at math so I kind of expected it.

My practice scores are:

Bio/Gchem/Ochem/RC/QR/PAT

Kaplan:
Diag 15/13/15/15/15/17
Mid 18/16/19/17/15/20
Final 19/18/23/19/16/21
1 16/18/18/18/18/22
2 19/19/19/18/19/23
3 24/17/16/18/15/21

Topscore:
3 19/18/23/19/18/22

Achiever:
1 17/18/20/20/17/18
2 15/14/17/18/18/17
3 15/14/19/21/19/17

The actual results:

DAT:

Bio 23 (98.9%)
GChem 22 (92%)
Ochem 21 (91.5%)
RC 21 (82.1%)
QR 16 (57.7%)
PAT 18 (81.9%)

TS 22 (97.1%)
AA 21 (94.4%)

Not the best...but so glad its over
Now back to life an ready to kick it!!

Hey Electron, congrats b on a wonderful victory, hopefully I can get that, & maybe more on Sat, because Sat is game day for me, heh, I'm proud of you, now go celebrate your hard-earned title

🙂

Congratulations electron! I knew you were ready to do great 😉
Enjoy yourself. You are DONE

Congratz! You can finally be a radical now instead stuck in the valence shell 😀 Enjoy!

I knew you were going to do it...congrats bro! Sorry I couldn't be more help the other day. Time to relax and throw back a few.

excellent job! i would be very happy with your scores! 🙂

i have a couple of days left so i will spending that time going over the destroyer in detail!

for gchem - is it more like topscore or achiever? (i know the destroyer gchem is insane!)

for rc - i know this is more of an individual/subjective thing - but do you recommend reading the passages in full or searching for answers from the get go?

again, congratulations! i hope i too will be as lucky!

I scored a 20+ on my RC and did the following:

1) Read as fast as I can.

2) Answer as many questions correctly as possible.

denteng sounds like he knows what his doing!
I just read the question and started reading as fast as possible until I found an answer then read the next question to see if I already skimmed passed that information of needed to speed read further. Inference questions I just used my best judgment.

The Gen chem section is probably more like the ADA exam in my question. You guys need to understand that the key to the DAT is to understand the basic fundamentals. They are not trying to test out your math skills in the gen chem section.

let me know if there are any other questions!

thanks you guys. What do you guys honestly think aobut my QR score? I know it is on the low side and I am applying for 2008's cycle. Do the people who have already applied know if this will be significantly detrimental when applying to schools. I understand it is the score dental schools seem to care least about and I hear UOP has a cut off at 17 for every section. Are there any other schools that have a cut off that you guys know about? Thanks once again!

I honestly dont think you should worry with a 16 at all its not the most important section anyway but when the time coems ask around at the dental schools your applying too!!

You really shouldn't worry about that section. Your sciences are very strong and thats what really matters. Great job!! Congrats!!!!

Thanks a lot you guys!

For all the people still studyin, just hang in there! Dont worry about your practice test results! I seldomly ever hit 20's in the sciences and the practice DATs test way to much detail!
