i also have about 6 weeks left, this is crazy! not to mention that i've been seeing AT LEAST one mechanism in my dreams for the past 3 nights....i'm getting a little worried about myself 🙂

and i feel like destroyer is destroying my confidence lol it's awful for orgo, i usually get around half of them wrong! anyone else in the same boat? hopefully? ahhh!

I felt good after the initial review phase, but when I started testing myself using dat/math destroyer, datQvault, free mcat questions, oat practice test, etc... I felt somewhat unprepared to answer all the questions correctly. But I just kept learning from mistakes, and kept reviewing materials that I did not have a good grasp of.
I would definitely recommend doing as many questions as possible for SNS/QR, and doing at least 6 full length practice tests prior to the DAT.

Good luck with your studies! I'm sure it will all come to you, and all your hard work will pay off in the end.

I know what you're going through. Trust me, we are all feeling the same way. I'm taking my DAT on June 28th and I've been studying for 3 weeks already. It's really hard not to get overwhelmed since there are so many stories and a lot of materials out there that are there to help you succeed.

Everyone studies different, and if you think that reviewing only for 2 weeks is enough then great! But realistically, no matter how fresh the material that's probably not enough time. Trust me, I was the same way. I'm like, ok, I'll finish this gchem review in 3 days, and then I'll do some ochem for the rest of the week. But I found that it's better to take your time.

I just took Ochem last semester so when studying for my final, I tried to study for the DAT for that section as well. But Ochem is harder for me and I needed a break after having been studying for it and worrying about the class all semester. I have been studying Gchem for about 2 weeks now. I'll do chad's videos and take his quizzes but then I won't just move on until I know that I understand the formulas and concepts well. So I will go into the destroyer book and find similar problems to the sections he just went over and practice practice practice.

It's so much better to practice as you go along as opposed to waiting until the very end and practicing for 4 weeks. You want to take small bites, otherwise you're going to feel sick.

Again, everyone studies different but I found that this has been working for me personally. I was able to do the DAT destroyer problems much better when I sat down to do them all together when I had broken it down into sections before. You're under some time constraints so you will probably make your own plans but it's better to push back your DAT 2 weeks then to do poorly and have to take it again.

I'm better at studying one section at a time and then when I finish with gchem and start reviewing and practicing Ochem I will do at least 20 gchem problems a day and keep building with each subject.

I hope this helps 🙂 Take what you can from it but ultimately do what works for you. Someone told me that I should do gchem for another 3 weeks at least even after these last two weeks of studying. I was like...YOU'RE CRAZY!!!! What would I even do with all that extra time?! It would be wasted! But maybe that's what worked for him. lol.

Good luck!!!!!!!

If you feel very overwhelmed you may need to scale back what you feel you "need" to know. There are a lot of things in biology that aren't that important and that you don't need to worry about too much, and there are other areas that you should know inside and out. Same goes for organic chemistry. I remember making notecards for the most random reaction that would never show up on the DAT, but maybe a practice test had a question on it. If something feels very very random, it probably isn't worth more than a once over. Just make sure you know the CORE material inside and out first, then worry about the other junk. And remember that you always do better on the real thing than any of the practice tests you might take. If you miss a question asking about histones and chromatin and you miss it, you need to really review that area. There are some things you should know for sure and they should be pretty obvious. The plant section over cliffs AP bio may be overkill for instance. Anyways. Hope that helps
