  1. Pre-Veterinary
Just found out about this so I'm in a big rush to make plans for it. It's at the University of Missouri Veterinary School.

At the risk of sounding like a creep, anyone else going and willing to split hotel or gas? I'd be coming from Arkansas so I don't know who would be able to carpool with me - just an idea.

* Also, is anyone else already going? ideas for attire?

I've never been but it sure looks interesting. Is it geared toward veterinarians mainly? I'd love to go but wouldn't want to stick out as a lowly pre-vet student.

Awesome. I will have to seriously consider this and let you know. Unfortunately, I would be coming from Indianapolis, so carpooling would not be practical!

Haha, no! not at all! The trip down isn't that bad though. My plane left my pre-vet club stranded in Indianapolis last year after the national symposium. We ended up renting a card and driving all the way back here.

Just a heads up. I found a hotel booking through Expedia at the Howard Johnson that's significantly cheaper than what the symposium lists. Don't know how good the hotel is (it got good ratings though) but, at least it's saving money.

Wow this sounds really interesting! It is only about 3 hours away from me too. I will seriously consider going. I don't know if carpooling will work out to much for you though, I am in Carbondale, IL.

Yeah...that wouldn't work out too well..haha. But, it's alright. I've decided I'm just going to go anyway despite having to drive/stay in my own hotel. It's worth it. I signed up for the aquatic animal necropsy and the wildlife darting/immobilization labs. Was going to sign up for the intubation lab but, I read (old threads from a few years ago) that some of the labs were reserved for veterinary students. It didn't specific on registration but, I didn't want to be stuck with only one lab.

Somewhat of a bump....

Hope to see some of you guys there tomorrow!

I'm here right now! I wonder who you are! haha. Hurray for reptile phlebotomy!

Uh ohhhh Haha I was in that same lecture. What else have you attended? Are you by yourself?

Uh ohhhh Haha I was in that same lecture.

I was there, too! Also went to the tiger case study, anthrax, aquarium medicine, and comparative anatomy lectures. Fun times 🙂

I think we were all in the same lectures =) I also went on one of the tours at the end of the day.

Are any of you in the wildlife darting lab tomorrow? I think I'm the only Pre-Veterinary Student at the symposium....

Some of the volunteers for various things are pre-vet students, but it is great that you are starting to do these things now!

I know. Its all really interesting and the more "technical" terms aren't that difficult to understand. It was funny because on the tour, the guide would explain certain things then say "well you guys are already in vet school ..." . I would just smile secretively to myself.
