I'm sure this topic has been covered fairly often already, but I'm an attention hog, so I'll ask anyways. =)
I e-submitted my application a couple weeks ago and the status says that my printouts have not been sent to my designated schools. How long does it take AADSAS to be sent out to my designated schools? Also, when should I start sending out my letters of rec, ASAP or when I receive the secondary application?
Looking through the other forums, it seems as if my gpa isn't going to get me very many replies (Overall:2.85, Science: 2.65, with fairly no fluctuation by semester). However, if it does do me any credit, I did take a lot of challenging bio courses at a pretty well-known institution. My DAT scores are:
PAT: 21
AA: 19
TS: 18
RC: 22
QR: 22
Bio: 17
Chem: 19
OChem: 17
I've worked as a dental assistant in an orthodontics office and am currently working in a dental office. I've been very involved on campus (which partially explains my low GPA) with several clubs and organizations and participate in volunteer work every so often. I have 5 strong letters of recommendation and research experience, and to summarize, I'm invovled in a lot of off-campus extracurricular activities as well (violin, church, sports, etc.)
Given the amount of information I've given, I know that it would be pretty hard to determine what my chances are...
But I'm just wondering based on your guys's experience if my grades can be overcome by my DAT scores and my other activities?
Also...if I am rejected based on my GPA, what options do I have to improve my status as an applicant? I've seen people receive their masters or take post-bac classes. What's the better option?
