I'm starting to get restless with one LOR writer. I know it is still pretty earlier in the cycle, but the professor will not respond to any of my emails. So that being said I have a few general questions to help me organize some of my thoughts....

Will schools not review your application until they get all 4 LORs?

When do schools start officially looking at the applications?

When do schools typically start sending out interview invitations?

Thanks.

Depends on the school, depends on the school, depends on the school. Gee, aren't I helpful? 😕

anyone? even a gerenal monthly range would be nice.

Hate to say it, but yeah, it really does depend on the school. I've heard of people having interviews already from Indiana, Nova, and Tennessee. Some schools have notified their applicants that their reviewing won't even begin until September.

I'd say it seems the majority of interviews are between September and December. A lot of this specific information is on the schools' websites, under Application Procedures or Application Timetable.

Yeah depending on the school, they will generally start interviewing in Aug/Sept/ or even as late as Oct. Also, not all schools require you to have 4 LORs. Some will accept 3 and will start reviewing your file. The best thing is to go to each school's website, as they will have the application requirements listed.

LORs are there, so the adcoms can read them and get an idea of who you are. The more LORs you have, the better they will get to know you, and the more interested they may become to meet you during an interview. Many schools require you to have at least three LORs (two from professors and one from a dentist or a non-family member); whereas, other schools don't require any specific number of letters. You'll definitely benefit from having more than one LOR, but that doesn't mean they will discard your application if you don't have 3 LORs. They'll probably review it, but like I said, if they don't find anything interesting about you, they may not want to meet with you for an interview!
When do schools start officially looking at the applications?
Most schools receive the hard copy of your application by July 14th (if not earlier). Of course, this depends on how early you have submitted your application and how fast AADSAS has verified your GPA. Most schools will send you emails inviting you to fill out their secondary application sometime between early/late July. The actual screening process starts toward late July/early August for most schools (They will only consider you for interview when they receive your official DAT scores. So, the later you take the DAT, the later they'll get your scores, and they later they'll start reviewing your application. End result-->A later interview).
When do schools typically start sending out interview invitations?
If you're among the early applicants with a complete application (DAT Scores, LORs, etc.) and competitive stats, then you should expect to get interview invites around late Oct/Nov.
Thanks.

Good Luck!👍

Thanks for all the info.... dat and gpa are good and I have 3/4 lors sent. The problem is that the 4th lor is supposed to be my 2nd science letter written by my advisor. However, Im actually thinking about getting a new professor to write it for me because I dont want my advisor to screw my chances by turning in the letter late. This new professor Im thinking about asking actually knows me much better (and is more organized so the I wouldnt have to put up with non-replies to emails). I know that changing it on AADSAS will not be a problem, but I dont know how I would explain myself to my advisor for jumping ship. Any advice??

Good luck to you too.

Just be honest with him/her. Tell him/her you think that your other professor knows you better and will be able to provide the admission committee with a better insight about who you are as an individual. If he/she is a true adviser and wants you to succeed he/she shouldn't have a problem with this. Even if he/she does have a problem, you need to do what's in your best interest. After all, you can't keep everyone happy.

Yeah, I know what I have to do but Im not sure why I didnt do it from the start.
When would you say would be a good time to get the final LOR in? I want to give the professor at least a 2 weeks to write it which would allow the letter to be sent in by the end of july or very early august.
