I'm a Junior in High School right now, and I am really interested in the Pharmacy field. And to get this out of the way now, no, I am not in this only for the money. However I'm not sure what I should go about doing.

I love chemistry and biology, and I think it'd be cool to actually understand how and why pharmaceuticals affect the body the way they do.

I'm not a whole lot sure what I need to do...I know you need 2-3 years of undergraduate study then a (4 year, I think?) Pharmacy school(which is rather difficult to get into). And there are 0-6 programs but that isn't possible for me(don't ask please).

What should you do?

Learn Golf while you're still young..but don't drink and drive.
Get a part time job and work. And give the first check to your parents.
Date as much as you can but don't commit to one person.
Call your elders "Sir and Ma'am"

Go all out for Senior Prom and if you're a young man...don't concentrate too much on trying to get laid. If you're a young lady..trust me..the only thing your date is thinking about is getting laid.
Unless you're going to an IVY league and/or Top Tier academic school, pick a university with a major football program..trust me, it will save you many heartaches in the future... Ask WVUpharm.

That's all I can think of at this moment..so that's all I have to say about that.

I believe I found the sarcastic one on the forum.

(not that anything you said is particularly far fetched, except, you know, giving my first check to my parents)

Just go to a college you like (and can afford). Take courses that are most interesting to you. After two years, if you still think you want to be a pharmacist, start focusing on prerequirements. Don't spend your undergraduate years always looking ahead. Take some time to enjoy one of the most carefree times of your life.

Lol. Just finish High School FIRST. You have plenty of time to decide if Pharmacy is for you, untill then, just enjoy LIFE,and have some fun.

haha. Giving your first check to your parents is just common courtesy. Either that or you treat them out to a nice dinner with your first paycheck.

Anyways, since you can't go to 0-6 programs, you are only left with the other path, which is undergrad, then pharm school like most of us here. You can either go to a school which has pre-pharmacy (a major where all you do is meet the pre-reqs of the College of Pharmacy there) or do a regular undergrad major while doing the pre-reqs. Most people choose Bio, Biochem, or Chem as their major because a lot of courses in those majors have pre-req classes in them, Biochem especially.

So what you need to do now is get into a college, finish your pre-reqs and/or degree, and apply to pharmacy school.
