Hi all, this is my first post, so sorry if any of thesequestions have been asked before. 1. For some reason I saw some big differencein match rates when I looked at the Insider’s Guide and http://www.appic.org/downloads/APPIC_Match_2000-06_by_Univ.pdf-which I found from this forum, could anyone explain this? 2. I’ll be applyingto PhD Programs in Fall for clinical psych… is anyone familiar with any university currentlyconducting research on innovative addiction treatment techniques? 3. I am interested in working in a rehab center or hospital setting. I would like toknow more about the career opportunities for a clinical psychologist in thissetting/ a day in the life- type description. If anyone has ever posted in thisforum or knows a web page where I could find out more on this topic I wouldgreatly appreciate it.

Good luck to all applying in Fall!

Schools report several different types of accredited internships (APA, APPIC, CAPIC). APA accredited internships are the gold standard in the field and open the most doors in terms of employment options. The appic website provides information on the number of students who matched at both appic and apa sites through the national match--it doesn't distinguish between the two so it probably varies from the insider's guide.

As an applicant, the most important statistic about internship is the percentage of students that matched at APA internship sites. This should be close to 90% plus in a good program.
