So I am doing a masters in pharmacology and toxicology, and in my first class in the program, I received word that I earned an "A-," today.

Anyhow, we had 4 midterms, and on our second midterm, one of the professors made an error in grading a question; it was a pharmacokinetics question that involves a lot of math, and the professor didn't know her stuff and graded it wrong.

Our class is set up so that each of our 20 lectures is given by a different faculty member, so I'd have to track this person down, and it might be a big hassle.

Do you guys think that it's worth going through possibly a lot of work to get an A, or should I just keep the A-? Thanks for reading.

If I was certain there were enough points to push me into an A, I'd already be knocking on their door.

If it's not at all a subjective question and the professor just made a math mistake, I would absolutely put forth the effort and track him/her down. I would also explain that you're not being nit-picky for no reason and that this one thing is the difference in your grade and could they please take a look and explain if there's something you are missing. I've found that professors are more willing to admit to grading mistakes and make the effort to fix them if you go in with the right attitude.
