So if im pretty comfortable with destroyer for Gchem, what should i move to and how? I mean i have kaplan materials but should i read them all over again? I would go over my weak points but i dont really know what they are, since most of the things i get wrong it was a little mistake and i totally understood why i made it, so im not sure exactly how to review for it anymore. Also i have been hearing alot lately that destroyer is not that much of a help for Bio anymore, should i waste my time going over it another two times in the next 6 days(date of my DAT) like i planned or solely focus on going through cliffs again? One more thing how the hell should i prep for RC ive been getting like 17's and 18's on kaplans practice exams so am i screwed since everyone says how much harder it is on the actual DAT? I didnt ever think RC would be one of my low scores. Any advice would be great, thanks.

You are doing much better if you are getting 17 in RC and I have my test on August 1st.

People say bio destroyer sux but I don't know how it can suck when I think it covers most of everything that I learned for last 4 years as a bio major.

Im still freaking out because i got like 2 17AA and 1 18AA on my last three kaplan practice tests and the last thing i want to get on the real exam is a 17-18AA, so im kinda worried and have been contemplating pushing it back but i wanna get it over with because i work and i am currently taking both ochems over summer so studying has been hell! Hopefully both of us will pull thru and get good scores! And yea thats what i figured about bio destoryer but everyone has been posting how it didnt help so i dont wanna waste anymore time on it because every minute i have is valuable within the next six days(thats why i shouldnt even be on here!lol)

Frankly, for me, destroyer didn't really live up to it's hipe to me. I think it's way to specific compared to the real thing. Sure, it has lots of bio stuff, but I only went over it once because it took way too long.

I was scoring 17s and 18s on practice exams, but they were due to careless mistakes. But when test day came, I scored in the 20s. So if you go back and see that you're getting those scores because of careless mistakes, you should be okay.

It just comes down to if you're feeling like you're ready for it

I feel like im ready but when the 17AA pops up on the screen its feels like monitor is yelling "your not ready!" at me. But i dont know, all the mistakes i make to lower my score are little careless mistakes except RC, i just need to improve on that somehow and i dont know how.

I used MCAT's examtrackers passages one. People on here said don't because it's totally different (which I do agree on), but it worked for me.

To OP, I am in the same position as you. I am taking my exam on the 29th and so far have not fared so well on practice exams. Nevertheless, I am sticking to my plan because they are all careless errors which will hopefully not happen on test day.

So stick with it, clean up the silly errors and you'll be fine.👍

maybe buy topscore and work with that for a little? that's supposed to be more like the real thing compared to kaplan.

Hey Tommy,
it seems like your main issues are time and finding/workin on your weak points?

Today-Tue: study hardcore - take practice tests, go over the ones you missed (repetitive questions on kaplan are representative of some of the questions on the actual DAT. I havnt taken topscore, so I wouldnt know about them... but I have heard its good. However, if you just have six days, I would not recommend trying something new - if for some reason you dont do well, you might just lose hope. And believe me, your confidence plays a BIG role. Go into the testing center positive!)
- Take a full length to gauge where you are at.
Wed-Thurs: Just sit at starbucks and read Cliffs AP Bio. For going over GChem stuff, the Kaplan flashcards were pretty helpful. Any concept in the cards that dont make sense - those are your weakpoints - those are the topics that you can read in the kaplan book.
If you want, take a full length on Friday. For me though, I ended with just a review - i didnt want to end up taking one of the hard tests... needed my morale to be at a super high! (I am not kidding. it sounds silly, but the last couple of days before your DATs, do this: take a shower every morning/night - no excuses to feel grungy, dress nicely when you go out anywhere, make a conscious effort to hangout with people are in a good mood - you dont need anyone to bring you down now)

Basically... like the others have mentioned... don't freak out at this stage. if its silly mistakes, you might just need to get a good nights sleep and a strong cup of coffee in the morning 🙂
