So let's say that you are accepted to med school after 1 year in an SMP program. Once you matriculate as a first year, do you just take the same classes that you took in the SMP?

It depends on the medical school you attend and how you did in the courses during your SMP. Some schools may allow you to skip the ones you did really well in, while some schools will make you retake all courses, I think. Even if you don't have to repeat those courses, chances are you still have to take some first year med school courses that weren't offered to you during your SMP.
