I recieved a nice surprise last night in the form of finding out that there was a 5th med school in my state, and just a few miles away from where I live. Ga-PCOM. Now they just need to graduate a class and get accredited in short order!

Actually, since we are a branch campus, the AOA is coming to inspect next week and assuming we pass their inspection, we will be fully accredited then. The rules are a bit different in the case of a branch campus, so good for us!
I was under the impression that branch campuses are still under provisional accreditation until the first class graduates regardless of the parent institution. That was what members of the AOA accreditation committee conveyed to us this past week when we had our site visit.

Yeah, when I interviewed at PCOM-GA the students and faculty both told me that they still had to graduate their first class before they get their full accreditation......although it is almost a formality at this point since everything is on schedule and the school is under the umbrella of PCOM.
