Hey all, two pretty straightforward questions:

1. There is an anatomy/physiology course in my school, but its offered through the nursing department. Would this still count toward BCPM gpa?

2. This course has a really low course number (less than 100). Would this look weird taking in a post-bac?

1) What is the course prefix? If it's clearly a nursing class, AMCAS may count it as a Health class, which isn't BCPM. You can of course claim it's BIO and hope they don't change it, using the course description in the catalog if you need to appeal the decision.

2) Yes. This is not the way to prove to Adcomms that you have what it takes.

Its NURS 0050. The course description sounds like a very typical a/p course.

I know it's a challenging course (pre-med friends have taken it). The problem I am running into is that this course fits perfectly with my work schedule, and don't really have other options to take another class. I just don't want to come off like I am slacking.

If any of your premed friends applied this year with that class on their transcript, you might ask how they and AMCAS classified it. If it doesn't qualify as BIO, IMO it's not worth your time if you need sGPA improvement.

Any adcomm who looks closely at your transcript may consider this a fluff class, but if it's just the beginning of your postbac and you do well in upper level bio classes added on later, it would likely be forgiven.
