Hello everyone, I need your honest input here. Should I continue to pursue Optometry or should I start to look at other careers. I am about half way done the prerequisites for optometry and have about 30hr of shadowing under my belt and lots of extra curricular and volunteering as well. The only place where I am having trouble is taking tests which you can see from my grades. I figure if I bust my butt and get A's and B's from now on and repeat a few courses I could pull up my overall GPA. Have I tainted my transcript too much already? At my university a .3 class is one term course and .6 is a two term/full year course. Here is what my current transcript looks like:

English 110.6 = 75
Psychology 110.6 = 65
Psychology 216.3 = 82
Statistics 233.3 = 82
Statistics 234.3 = 58
Music 111.3 = 91
Women & gender studies 112.3 = 76
Chemistry 112.3 = 59
Chemistry 115.3 = withdrawal will retake later)
Organic Chem 250.3 = 58
French 103.3 = 71
Biology 120.3 = withdrawal (will retake later)
Political Studies 111.3 = 78
Biochemistry 200.3 = 30 (currently retaking, so far at a 74)

If you keep getting these type of grades you won't get in, its as simple as that. You need to get As on regular basis from here on; no question about that. If you can do that and do relatively well on OAT you will be fine. Its not over yet but few more grades like those and it will be hard to recover. So, time to get serious.
