One of the hardest oddball questions I got was: "Are you more like your mother or your father and why?" At first it seemed easy but I had a hard time coming up with a coherent answer. The whole plane ride home I was thinking about it....
Hmm.. honestly, I have a lot more in common with the mailman.... FFFUUUUUUUU
Seriously though, I literally had zero oddball questions. It seems like the only question I was really asked was the why medicine? one. My answer led to a conversation that allowed me to feel like I was in control. I volunteered information I was comfortable sharing that begged more questions that I had prepared a lot for.
It ended with my interviewer telling me that she thought I would end up in pediatrics (which I took as a compliment considering seemingly every premed wants to be a pediatric neurosurgeon or some nonsense), and she hoped I got to spend some residency time with her.
