okay so...i randomly came across this question and it's been driving me crazy trying to figure out if i got it right. sorry if it seems like a silly question =P

A person has a 20/40 vision; if an object is placed 20ft away from that person, will he or she be able to see it clearly?

Now i know this means the person if able to see an object at 20ft where a normal person sees it at 40ft. Despite the fact that the person has less than normal vision, he/she is still able to see an object clearly at 20ft away.
right?

Oh and just so i don't violate any thread codes, i was also wondering what were some of your reasons for deciding to pursue a career in optometry? =)

The answer is....

It depends on the size of the object.

Clear enough to pass most DMV "tests". KHE was right, size does matter:hardy:

Pull out the trig.. lets see the angle subtended by a 20/40 letter....NAH!
