So here's my issue,
I graduated college two yrs. ago (Psychology and Pre-Dental) and had a solid work history (mostly as a secretary at clinics and hospitals) until a year ago. I recently started looking for research and dental related work, but no luck. So far I only volunteer at a dental clinic once a week where I do work similar to what a dental assistant would do. I plan to apply next year and my primary concern is how this huge gap of not doing much will be viewed in my applications, no matter how great my gpa and DAT score might be. I truly intent to be involved with more, but other than employment, what are other ways to show motivation and commitment towards a dental career? Thanks for any advice.
