A secondary even though I'm "active"?

Though my AMCAS homepage tells me my application is still Active, I just received an email from Yale thanking me for my application and pointing me towards their online secondary. Not to say I am complaining in the least, but isn't this phenomenon a little odd?

Not odd at all. Many schools don't screen pre-secondary. They can download your information before you're verified and can send you their secondary. I got half a dozen secondaries before I was verified.
