Shoot, so I applied twice to a lot of schools a few years ago and am going for it again after a few years of work/more school/new MCAT. I just realized that some school websites now say they consider only 2 applications. I was looking at USC/UCLA and I"m sure others are similar. Anyone know how old this is? Will my previous 2 applications have ruined my chance?

I think they mean it.

Well if it’s on the website currently, it probably means what it says.

You could always try and hope they only keep records for a short time, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. If you have money to burn in app fees that is....

Software will identify multiple applications.

Uh…you almost certainly aren’t going to get into USC or UCLA as a third time applicant even if they didn’t have this rule. Honestly it is kind of them to stop you from applying 3 times because otherwise they would just be taking your secondary money before they deleted your app.

Look at more realistic schools…I don’t think they have this rule.

Apply to new schools if you want to stay in CA.

Not sure about UCLA (but I can't see why it would be different from USC), but I have a friend at Keck who does student interviews and she's confirmed that it's a hard rule for them.

Does anyone know which schools have the “no more than twice” rule?
