Hi everyone. I am new around here so I thought I'd say hi! 🙂

I am happy to say that I have received an interview invitation to SUNY! Hooray!!!!

From previous posts I understand that generally you hear if you are accepted the same day as your interview. I assume that "if" I get accepted it will be conditional since I have yet to write the OAT.

Now getting to the question....in the case of a conditional offer of acceptance, would I have to pay to reserve a spot in the class?? If so how much? Nova is very good about giving that info on their web site (ie. this much by this day, then this much more on this day etc...) but no other schools seem to make that public. Can anyone help me??

Congrats on your interview! I'm a 1st-year at SUNY, so I went through all the same things last year that you're doing right now. (Fun, isn't it? 😉 ). Because you haven't taken the OAT yet, my guess is that your application may get put on hold until your scores arrive (usually in late Nov, early Dec). If you do get a provisional acceptance, you will be asked to put down a $500 deposit to hold your space in the class -- at least that's what it was last year. I don't think the class totally fills up until the spring, though, so you'd be safe in waiting a couple more months if you were waiting on other offers.

Thanks for the reply r_salis. I have read a few of your other posts and it seems you are really happy at SUNY. I can't wait to visit 😀.

I am Canadian so unfortunately I will probably end up paying one of these "hold-your-spot" fees since we don't hear back from Canadian schools until much later. Boo 🙁 . My bank account would probably thank me in the long run if I manage to get myself into a school up here.
