Reality has finally set in. After getting 2 rejections in the mail on Monday (from UCSF and MCPH), i returned to work on Tuesday to observe the next bunch of interviewees at UMDNJ and RWJ. (I work there) It was absolutely surreal to be face to face with those of you that i am "competing" with for a spot in 2002's class. I can't explain the feeling....only that it was very uncomfortable (for me that is). Everyone walking around in their suits with their red medical school folders. Man, I was soooo jealous. Just wanted to say good luck to all of you. Hope to be joining you real soon. 😉

Yeah, that would be tough. Best of luck, Ciardeme! 🙂

Yeah, I too saw a bunch of interviewees at UIC when I was there a couple weeks ago. The lady mistook me for an interviewee (I don't know how, I wasn't in a suit) and was directing me to where they were, when in fact I was only there for a counseling appointment. I hope I get an interview somewhere soon!

I hear you Ciardeme! I am so frustrated with this waiting game I have going on with the schools I have applied to! Though I am happy for those who have gotten accepted, I can't help but feel a little bit jealous! I guess that I should be happy for not getting any more rejections than I already have, but this waiting is driving me insane

I feel your pain. I graduated last year, and do clinical research at the med center now. I was basically pretty sure that my own alma mater would give me an interview soon. 2 months later, no word, and I am starting to see the interview groups and tours walking around the hospital. You would think I would have some love from Duke by now! Still waiting, and eyeing those interviewees with contempt. 😉 I feel lucky to have a few acceptances that ease my pain. Good luck!

Just think of what its like when you play student host to interviewees. Its almost as bad as going to the interviews. Questions come up like, "So where have you interviewed?", "Where have you gotten in?" , "Where are you from?" And the thing is is that the interviewees that stay with us are a bunch of tight asses. Dammit when I stay with a student I want them to take me out and show me around. I don't wanna be holed up in the damn living room watching reruns of ALF. My med school roommates and I do make the effort to take them around and all except a couple have refused. 😱
