I’d rather spend my time creating opportunities for medical students rather than premeds... not that the latter isn’t important

I plan to work with my undergrad's health professions office to provide additional opportunities to pre-meds. At the very least, I will be available for them to shadow. A more ambitious approach would include some more hands-on help, such as holding workshops for applications and interviews.

Aside from making myself available to shadow, hopefully I will be in a position some day to establish scholarships at my undergrad institution for premeds from low socioeconomic backgrounds. In lieu of the usual cash or money applied straight to tuition & fees bill, I was thinking more of something like paying for MCAT signup fees or prep courses for students who demonstrate strong academic performance/potential.

Petitioning the medical board to replace the MCAT with the GRE.

=D

I’ll definitely be open to shadowing, but I think I’ll want to know their GPA and/or MCAT score first. I also think it would be neat to pay for the application of students from my undergrad applying to whatever school I matriculate to.
