You could be proud of a particular accomplishment while volunteering, meeting a particular goal while running a fundraiser, successfully completing (or even just getting comfortable enough to start) a marathon, and so on. My answer would be raising my daughter and the like. It can be WHATEVER you are most proud ofz

I would say the phrase "on your path to medicine" is specifying something you've done because you have chosen this path or that is in some way related to this goal and not something you would have done anyway or that was unrelated (e.g. my corgi won a blue ribbon at the dog show my freshman year in college).

I was asked this recently at an interview and answered my kids but the question did not include the qualifier “on your path to medical school”. It felt a little awkward though and I wish I’d had said something like “in my personal life, my kids. In my professional life, X”. And without X being brag-y, ie. Not published papers or awards. Agreed with LizzyM that you should choose something related... I think the service organization is a good one, particularly if you make sure to word it as a team-effort.

Seconded. I missed the “on your path to medicine” part. My bad.
