DAT scores:
PAT 20
QR 15
RC 23
Bio 21
GC 19
OC 22
TS 21
AA 20

So during my preparation for the DAT i did not utilize the "mark" button for QR because I was working on speed and felt that the time it took to read some of the word problems and understand whats being asked took too long to not go ahead and do it. Well on the real thing I had the same strategy. Unfortunately my test was front loaded with wordy problems and i took the time to do them. So with 6 minutes left i had 12 problems left. Needless to say i had to do some guessing. Obviously my strategy sucked and i know if i used the mark button on the earlier wordy problems then i could have got at least 8 of the last 12 questions right and had time to go back to the ones i marked.

So my question is, do i need to retake? I have a 3.47 gpa. I've heard others reference this minimum of a 17 on any section being a cutoff for schools but ive wondered how legit that is. Reason being, ive seen some stats indicating the range of scores for each section of the DAT for students accepted to dental school and for the QR section a 15 or even a 14 was included. So im wondering how my score will be percieved? Ive seen in one case where a student had almost identical stats to me included a 15 on QR and he got 10 of 14 interviews. So my predicament is that i dont want to spend the money for another test and i also dont want any of my other scores to drop. HELP!!

I got bio 22, GC 23 and OC 19 and still got 21 TS. I know they don't average the TS but shouldn't my TS be a little higher?
It varies between tests. But lets for example use the 2009 conversion chart. According to them hypothetically, missing 12-15 questions will net you a 21 TS. So for a 22 bio, you missed 5 questions, 23 GC means 3 questions, and 19 OC 6 questions. Thats 14 questions missed total out of the 100, hence a 21 TS.

Some schools (a select few) have cutoffs for specific sections, including QR. It shouldn't be an issue though as most schools don't even care about QR at all. Just call them and ask. If you're asked about it during an interview just be honest!

Last cycle I had similar score and did not get accept it! Just saying

Its because of your 15 RC not your 15 QR. a 15 RC is atrocious and hard to overcome. Its like 10% or something. I believe many people were suggesting a retake. Have you done so?
