how are academic averages calculated?

i got the following on my dat achiever test 2:

pat 17
qr 18
rc 19
bio 16
gc 17
oc 17
ts 17

aa 16?? my only low score was bio, which was 16. i figured my aa would be around 17-18. do you guys know how dat achiever calculates it?

also have a ? qr question:

how is 10 time root 3 equal to 30 divided by root 3?

thanks for the help guys.

Biology carry's more weight than the other science sections since it has more questions than the other 2 sciences. The low bio score can bring down your AA and TS more so than the other sections.

10 x (3)^1/2
= [10 x (3)^1/2 x (3)^1/2]/(3)^1/2
= [10 x 3]/(3)^1/2
= 30/(3)^1/2

I thought AA was a straight average of GC, OC, BIO, QR, and RC. No weights involved.

AA is calculated by totaling up the number of questions answered correctly out of the 190 questions from SNS, RCT, & QRT. This will then be converted to your scaled score.
