okay, i'm about to go on a crazy rampage, so Indiana FINALLY gets back to me ( i had moved and had to change addresses) and they now inform me i have to take general psychology. the problem lies in the fact that before i applied i made sure to call them and asked if my abnormal psychology course would be okay-they said yes, so i went ahead and applied. now, after i've submitted my application, paid all my monies, they tell me this...the reason why i'm so mad is because i could have just taken it in summer school and gotten it over with, now i have to wait until spring 2006 because the colleges in my area have already started. i've tried getting in contact with them to argue, but luckily for them, the representative i talked with initially no longer works there (supposedly) can anyone give me any advice? should i just withdrawal my application? i'd hate to spend more money just to take one more class for only one school, but then i would hate more to lose a chance at dental school for Fall '06.

Depends how much you want to attend Indiana. The psychology course was the primary reason why I didn't apply to Indiana. Anyhow, you've got to play by their rules. It bites that an admissions staff told you otherwise, but it sounds like you'll have to take it in the spring if you want to go. They might interview and accept you anyway on condition that you complete the psychology requirement.

Do you remember the name of the admissions reps you talked to?

And, Javadi's right. You can get an acceptance to Indiana with a prereq in progress; that's how I got mine. You just have to provide an updated transcript when you finish (in your case) the psych course.

Man, that stinks! psychology is also the reason why I didn't even want to bother...well, also my stats are a little too low for them I think. 😳

But, I would probably drop them from my list. However, if you decided to keep them on your list, I would definitely SAVE money and do it at a local community college!!

IU was the only reason that I took psychology 100 for. They told me that they needed a 100 level intro to psych and my 500 level psych (neurobehavioral anatomy) wasnt going to satisfy the requirement. Now they tell me that i need more anatomy b/c the credits i took were not in the bio dept. The truth is that at my school they got rid of human anatomy in the bio dept so all the pre-health people had to take it in the exsci dept. now that i have taken A&P 2, i need to go and take A&P 1 in order to re-satisfy the req that i satisfied 3 yrs ago!
gotta love some of the hoops we gotta jump through!!
