AACOMAS 2014-2015 Behind?

Hello,

I had read all about applying to AACOMAS early and I submitted my applications (primary) on June 6, with my transcript arriving about a week after. I also applied to some MD schools with AMCAS and not only has the application been sent out, but I have received secondaries. However, my primary application is still being processed at AACOMAS. Is it traditional that they take longer, or is anyone else noticing that there is a delay here?

If follow the 2014-2015 official AACOMAS verification thread, your submission date should have been verified already. I think you should call AACOMAS and figure out what is going on. I submitted my app and transcript on 6/25 and according to the prediction, I should be verified later this week. Since you are 2 weeks before me, theres definitely something wrong here.

The process is a lot longer for aacomas. My application is also still pending but I submitted on June 16th. I called them and they said it takes 6 weeks for verification.

Remember that a lot of MD schools send out secondaries automatically and do not pre-screen applicants. That's because it's just a way for them to make money, even if they aren't going to look at your application. Some DO schools do pre-screen, while others will send you a secondary if you meet a minimum 2.75 S/C GPA alone.

Don't worry about not having secondaries or being verified. Quite frequently people won't even get interviews until like Jan, Feb, sometimes even March!

yikes, I hope it won't actually take that long! But in OP's situation, submitted on June 6 definitely sounds weird..

Yeah that does sound a little weird considering it was super early, but still...I wouldn't freak out about it because it's still quite early in the application cycle. Checking on it definitely wouldn't hurt by any means!

Granted, I did just take my MCAT on July 2nd, so my application won't be complete until around August 2nd-ish.

I'm an Oregon resident so I hope to attend WesternU in pomona or COMP. Going to PNWU would be great also. I have slight below average stats so I'm applying broadly to 15-20 schools. KCUMB or DMU would be my reach schools! What about yourself?

I applied to WesternU and PNWU also! I am I'm California so I applied to all the schools on the west coast along with LECOM, Chicago, NYIT, ATSU, AZCOM, and then also TuoroNV!

Maybe we will be classmates?!?!

Thanks for both of your help, I am jealous! I checked, and they received my transcript on June 15, so it'll be 4 weeks tomorrow. Maybe the 6-weeks is a thing, I just like to be ahead!

Yeah it did, but I guess it's about 4 weeks after transcript was received, if you look around the July 4th holiday. Also, I received word at 7:30 PM on a Friday night, not sure, but I guess they work late, and even on weekends?
