Hey, I just got sent this email, is it legit?
AACOM has been advised that there was a problem with security in the AACOMAS system which would have allowed someone with access to your user name (email address) to access your individual account and all information you have entered into your account without the need for a correct password. The problem began at 11:03 am (eastern daylight time) on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 and ended at 12:15 pm (eastern daylight time) on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Upon learning of the problem, it was promptly corrected. AACOMAS access logs indicate that your account was accessed during this time period. If you did not login to your AACOMAS account during this time period, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. If you did login during this time, please login again and check to be certain that no unauthorized changes were made to your application. If unauthorized changes were made to your application or if you are concerned that you account was accessed by another,!

Looks like the problem was somewhat isolated...I just checked and no message for me.

I take it back, I got the message too. Yay for me! 😡

I got it too. I think I did long on that day bc they messed up and did not count one of my A's so I was following up...

hope no one is running around with my SSN and info...

i got the exact same email with the exact same times. I bet its a scam. The email says ''[email protected]''. Wouldnt a person have their whole name from aacomas in their email?

I got the same Email! 😕

I received the email, and checked out everything. I think everyone who logged onto their website, and those who were broken into will receive the email. Mine was already submitted so I don't think anything could be modified.

ya go that email too,

checked everything but no changes noticed as well. Did see a class in the wrong semester though...anyone know how they handle that if you have been in processing for a 3 wks already. I hope that verification doesnt "start" over....and the wait continues

I just found the email sitting in my spam box.

Color me slightly annoyed. We trust them with very personal information and pay for the privilege, they should be more careful. 😡

Yup, I got it this morning as well. Annoying and a bit unnerving at the same time. Eesh....

At first I started to reply, and then got scared that this might be a scam, so, i did the next best thing- I posted on SDN! but I trust whoever said they called... so, let me log in now... but I'm already verified, but then again, my SSN, birthdate, address... all crap. And I cannot remember if I logged in yesterday or not.

so I just got an apology email from Interfolio (it totally slipped my mind that they run AACOMAS) saying that nothing had been changed in my account and they're really, really sorry for everything that happened. good thing nobody managed to get my birthday + address + SSN, because that's the ticket for identity theft right there.

I feel like they jumped right on it because I also happen to have a long term account with interfolio. can't piss off the paying customers too much, right?
