AACOMAS employee threatened me... how do I report them???

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Let it go. There are bad employees everywhere. Yesterday I specifically said no pickles on my whopper and they put pickles on it. The important thing though was that I got to eat.

I'm more concerned with the fact you don't like pickles on a whopper...

I don't like pickles on sandwiches. Adjacent to sandwiches, yes, but not on them. They bully the rest of the sandwich with their standout consistency and flavor. Blech. Someone has got to agree with me!

I agree, but that's why I like them on the sandwich. I appreciate the strong flavor.

bro thats a crazy story, it reminds me of this time when

I have dealt with this person before and he was not helpful in checking whether my transcript had been received. I had spoken to someone else about a week before him, and they told me that even though a transcript might not be updated, it will show on the representative’s end whether the transcript is there or not. I kept begging him to check to see if they have received it but it just had not been updated. I can tell he did not check as other representatives who made an effort actually checked in the system. He told me they did not receive anything.By that time it had been about a month since I had sent it out. I asked him what else I can do, and he just said he had nothing for me.
The next day I call back and a different representative told me yes it’s in the system and that it was being updated. My latest encounter with this guy was to get my transcript error fixed. He said email AACOMAs and state what is wrong. So I questioned why could I not handle the issue through the phone? And he just said email AACOMAs. This guy’s voice is distinctive; he has an African accent. And as soon as I said he was not helpful and I have dealt with him before and asked for his name, he flipped. He started talking fast and saying I was yelling and screaming to my “dean” (?), also that I was going to get reported to the schools for being rude. He kept repeating that and I said “how am I yelling or screaming when I am trying to get answers?” He kept on insisting " I was yelling and screaming" and I was baffled because I had just woken up and trust me, I had no energy to be fighting with this guy.
I said just transfer me, and he repeated his line of “you are yelling and screaming and you are going to get reported!” He did not provide his name and refused to transfer me.
I had asked the representative yesterday to give me her name, and she kindly did so. This is before I realized there were errors in updating my transcript, and a repeat course was not noted so my gpa was lower than it should be.
He just kept saying “we don’t give out our names”. This representative’s scared tactics will not work, and AACOMAS should really reconsider the type of employees on staff.

I love how I am actually trying to prevent other students from having to deal with this jerk at AACOMAS and possibly delay/ hurt their chance at schools. Great responses...shows maturity!

Some of you need lives outside these forums.. when you try so hard to come up with entertaining stories about pickles for others to read, that's when you know you need to log off. Reply if you have something constructive. Do not if you have nothing to say.

So do you get onions on the sandwich then? This is actually why I get no onions on my sandwich.

I have now attempted to switch the topic of conversation to onions. Let's hope it works, for everybody's sake.

While I do not appreciate your thread jacking, I will answer your question out of principle. The answer is yes, I feel the same way (although inexplicably less strongly) about onions. They, too, do not belong.

I agree, but that's why I like them on the sandwich. I appreciate the strong flavor.

I dont know about this. I want my sandwich to be a harmonious, synergistic assembly of components. Like an orchestra. You can't have one out of tune instrument and expect the whole thing to work.

MLT... you should just tattoo the word "tool" on you. Get a job if you're waiting to start instead of trying to sound so funny. I'm not sure why this turned into "attract the tools" thread. But yea, wait till you have to deal with that jerk. I have included a picture to get through to some of you at your level.

douchebag.jpg

Please stop yelling and screaming at me

Edit: I'm not a big fan of the band, so I'm not sure why I'd get a "tool" tattoo. Additionally just for seris bizness sake, what were you hoping to get out of your original post? It's a long rant, and a little "outside the box" thinking would have lead you to a way to report the guy if that is what you were actually looking to do.

Not exactly the epitome of maturity... Do yourself a favor and show real maturity next time and learn to leave it be; you'll live more happily and replying just eggs 'em on. It sucks that you had to deal with a rude employee at AACOMAS, but it does happen and unfortunately there's probably not much that can be done without knowing the employee's name unless there's only one male answering phones in that department.

I can see why the guy might not get along with the OP.

ps. I like the direction this thread went.

This is complete BS. Now I'm getting email claiming they are documenting my behavior and abuse, and that further "abuse" will be reported to schools I applied to... What in the hell????

Man, I must be in the twilight zone. I sent the email to have the issue resolved 2 minutes after I got off the phone. The guy on the phone didn't even ask for my name, or attempt to resolve the issue.

I feel like I'm applying to med. school in a third world country...I paid all this money to have some guy bully me???!

Ok.

Step 1: Get a hold of the lady that you said was "nice". If the "african accent" dude picks up say you were talking to a lady and if you could possibly be transfered. If not hang up and wait a few minutes and try again.

Step 2: Ask for a supervisor or someone who can make executive decisions once you have contacted said lady.

Step 3: Explain what happened, the fact alone that the guy refused to give you his name is bad customer service.

Places like these normally "record phone calls for quality assurance reasons".

Step 4: Make sure to exclude onions next time you order a Whopper.

Thank you, but they're closed now...so I sent the manager an email. I just want this all to end. I have no idea what the hell is going on and how I ended up getting thrashed for all this. Forget it, I'm going to the Caribs. Screw DO.

Bravetown, this is EXACTLY how I'm feeling... thanks for trying to make light of my situation! I guess it's just one of those flipping days.😀

MLT,, will do, because I just put down a deposit on carib school. I love how their mistake in updating my transcript, and the guy's laziness has now turned into me just getting into a further hole. I guess a thousand dollar for an app. service to treat me like a child is what I asked for.

well if your issue is officially closed, i suggest we address something that, erroneously, was not addressed earlier.

I can understand the feeling on pickles and onions, though i love how one imposes its will upon the burger and the other is subtly mild. Its like a flavorful war in my mouth between pickle and burger taking the role of Germany and England, with onions being the surrendering french. Not willing to assert any aggressive taste. I get all this. But what does SDN think about mustard on a burger (with ketchup, of course).

I for one approve fully. Summers driving into jersey to go to six flags made me realize that all the burgers in south and central jersey had mustard and i loved it.

Pickles go on EVERYTHING all the time!

/same with horseradish

Pickles are much better fried, just ask Snookie....

I'm sorry that doesn't sound good... Also, the only good pickles are dill pickles whole, not on a burger. I love nothing more than eating an entire dill pickle by itself. If you disagree with me you're a communist. These are facts.

I don't know if you are serious or not, but I seriously hope not. Don't let the application experience sway you from schools (or in your case, a whole degree program). When I was applying a few years ago, I had a horrible experience with someone at my current school's admissions office. I still have no clue who the person was, but he had some serious personality issues which almost made me not want to come here. (In my case, it was November during the application cycle, and the earliest interview I was getting to the school was in February. However, I didn't think I could attend this interview, as I was planning an overseas project for February/March and had hoped to have all my interviews completed long before then. When I emailed the school to see if I could get an earlier interview, this unhelpful guy tells me that I should just reschedule for March. I wrote him back telling him that I am trying to move UP my spot, not delay it, so that I can interview before I leave. He writes me back telling me that he would drop my interview spot and would reschedule me for April/May instead, at the end of interview season. I was just like, "WTH??!! Don't you dare touch my interview spot, if you aren't going to help me." 😕😡 Of course I didn't say this, as I was trying to be polite, but I sure felt it. Maybe he saw humor in this, but I sure didn't as a pre-med.

Everything ended up working out for me and I got my interview at the end of January by neurotically checking the school's online system to search for open spots. However, my interaction with that guy in the admissions office was truly disturbing, and it really reduced my desire to be at my present school before coming here. I almost chose to accept another DO school's acceptance offer, as they had a much friendlier and welcoming admissions office. (Note to schools: the quality and friendliness of your admissions staff really matters to prospective students!!) However, I finally realized that this school would still be a better fit for me. At present I have no regrets. Since coming here, my interaction with the school's admissions office and the student services have been nothing but positive happy experiences. So that guy was truly an anomaly that didn't represent the school well at all. Furthermore, I rarely have an interaction at all with the school's admissions office anymore now that I'm a matriculated student, so even if they were to still have issues, it doesn't make much of an impact on my life.

In summary, what I am trying to say, is that don't let your whacked up experience dissuade you from applying to DO schools. Once you are accepted to a school, you won't have to worry about these people again (i.e. the AACOMAS guy). On the other hand, if you end up going to the Caribbean just due to this one troubled guy, you might regret that for life. So don't let your frustration impair your ability to see clearly.

I wasn't sure if you were serious or not about the Caribbean, but this would be my reply to you in case you were.

earthyDO so you are telling us that when we have a sense of humor that is when we need to log off ? This forum is freedom of speech not your personal forum ok. You want to dictate to us on the forum now. with this kind of attitude i can bet you probably called the AACOMAS people and disrespected them that is why they called you out that they may report your rude behavior. A friend of mine disrespected AMCAS and he got rejected after they reported his behavior. only God knows. You are probably upset and lying because you got bad grades. don't come here throwing dust in our eyes looking for attention. You are not even serious to say now you going to opt for carib. what a loser 👎 👎 👎

You should send him/her some tons of dry pickles and Caribbean roasted goat butter balls for breakfast. hey hey hey hey. some people are too sour and miserable in real life they need to eat more drill pickles to sooth their drooling mouth. gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr blended enchilada trash bin

Good advice. I didn't see the original post so I don't know what exactly happened, but don't let one person's bad attitude turn you away from a viable option for American schools. The residency match has been getting harder in recent years thanks to the increase in med school graduates every year without an increase in residency spots. I think most people would say that your future prospects for residency are better coming from any American school (DO or MD) than from a Caribbean one.

earthyDO the idiott has started another thread on MD site that AMCAS also employees were rude to her. earthyDO has mental issues. what a stuppid wooden head trying to attend med college with his/her sickness head:scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:maybe the MCAS also reported he/her fo0lishness attitude again. awhat a pice of trash student trouble maker

What is with you people, SERIOUSLY!

we got nothing to do but throw all our trash and left over pickles on this stuppid thread started by an attention seeker who has no future at any med college. most forumers are sttupid anyways

I agree, but that's why I like them on the sandwich. I appreciate the strong flavor.

I totally agree with your piglett pickle theory. we all need that strong flavor with Cambodia and Caribbean mustard sauce and garlic grilled salmon steak on hot bread 😱😱😱😱😱:laugh::laugh:

You misunderstood me. I totally support the pickle insight, I just don't support people not enjoying the delicious taste of a Nalley Garlic Dill Pickle.

G as C...if school would start already I would.

I have now attempted to switch the topic of conversation to onions. Let's hope it works, for everybody's sake.

Hilarious! I can always count on getting a good laugh on the forum...a great way to break the monotony of studying this BR physics book sitting in front of me.

 Hahahahaha. This thread is f---ing hilarious. Seriously, it genuinely put me in a better mood.
