AACOMAS Grade Replacement Question

Hello Everyone,

I couldn't find the answer to this question anywhere. I also emailed AACOMAS and their answer didn't help either. So I wanted to get some advice from you all. I'll post my question followed by AACOMAS' response.

I took GenChem I at a school where it was worth 4 credits (I didn't do well). I retook it at a different school where it was worth 3 credits (before I knew the credit hour rule). So I took it a third time for 4 credits. Will my third retake replace my first and second time taking the class?

So that was my question. This is AACOMAS' response . . .

"The last repeat will replace the previous courses whose credit hours are equal to or less than the last repeat. Thank you."

This response tells me that my third GenChem I retake which was 4 credits, will replace all my previous GenChem I classes. So if you agree that this is the case, how do I enter this in the application?

Will it be GenChem I 4 Credits Repeat01, GenChem I 3 Credits Repeat01, GenChem I 4 Credits Last Repeat01? But technically, the 3 credit class won't replace the 4 credit class. I'm so confused!

Simple answer: Yes! It will replace the previous 2 gen chem classes...

well, even though I have to fill it out myself in couple weeks, you have to include ALL classes. So AACOMAS will calculate the gpa for you. Whether it replaces or not, all you have to do is to include it.
Worry if that grade is going to kill you. Don't worry so much if it only affects you slightly.

Thanks for the reply. I've already filled in the application, I just want to know what my gpa is before hand so there won't be any surprises after AACOMAS verifies it. And I can't help but to worry. I know it's going to lead to an early grave, but I can't help it.

you filled it out already? Doesn't the preliminary application open on May 1st??? Is that only for AACOM?

I filled it out and took screen shots, so on May 1st I can just easily copy it in. Like I said, I worry 😱

Not judging you at all. I would do it if I had time to but, I'll worry about it after I get caught up with my class work.

Put it in so that it helps your GPA. They will change it if necessary.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to update you all on some information I received today. So I was able to have a conversation with Gina Moses during an online conference (found out about the conference on SDN 👍). Gina Moses is the Associate Director of Application Services and Recruitment for AACOM. I told her about my situation (see original post) and she said she would look into it and give me a definitive answer. I just wanted to add that she is a very nice lady. So I got that definitive answer today.

My final retake of Gen. Chem. will replace both the original and the 1st retake of the class. I am so relieved!
