So I've had my applications to DO schools completed since before the new year, but AACOMAS lost my letters. Luckily I checked before DO deadlines, but now they haven't sent them to ANY of the schools I have listed. Some of the deadlines for schools I am applying to have past, so now I basically just wasted way too much money. Has anyone had any experience with these, have you been able to get your money back? And is there anything I can do at this point other than rage?

Have you contacted the individual schools? If so, what did they say?

I did one, GA-pcom said they checked my application once when I submitted it in December and the letters weren't there. They said they had to be informed when the letters arrived otherwise they wouldn't download my application a second time. Their deadline for all materials was March 1st so they won't really help me out.

Yikes. This is just my opinion, but I think your door might be closed for this year 🙁

Have you tried contacting other schools?

Yeah I was hoping they'd give me some love since I live 2 miles down the street haha. But no not yet, i was thinking about Sending a primary to Lake Erie-Bradenton and Burrell-New Mexico State, think it'd be worth it this late?

The moral of the story kids is that you should always call schools to make sure they have everything well in advance. Sorry to hear that happened to you OP, AACOMAS isn't having a good year.

A Primary? Is that even possible. Even if you have stellar stats, I don't think it would be worth it this late in the cycle. Remember, it's harder to get in to a school as a reapplicant.

Are you sure you are neurotic enough for a career in Medicine, OP?

Did they offer an explanation as to how they lost your letters? I'd be furious.

It's too late now so plan on getting ready for the next cycle. Send your letters through VirtualEvals or something so this doesn't happen again, and check to see your letters were sent daily until you have confirmation VirtualEvals received your letters and also that they sent them. Afterwards, contact every school you are applying to and get confirmation that the letters were received.

LOR problems strike a particular chord with me. I absolutely hate every facet of the process, and I personally had issues until December. Nearly ruined my cycle. To avoid a repeat of your problem and any others, be proactive.

My own university lost my MCAT score after telling me I was complete and then didn't let me know until I called and complained. So if it has been a while and no movement it always pays to follow up. When processing tons of applications things happen.

Good luck in contacting each school and hope you get an II, but unfortunately you might be looking at next cycle.

no they didn't even acknowledge that they lost it. The several emails from them avoided any question I asked. Both AACOMAS and the school I've talked to admit to no wrongdoing so screw me right? Haha but it's okay, I definitely should have been more on top of things but live and learn. Luckily I'm waitlisted for my state allopathic school so some hope exists

Sounds like a good plan, best of luck brother.
