Are there certain things I shouldn't say in my PS with regard to terminology.

Example...should I say doctor instead of physician...

or...should I say Osteopathic college instead of medical school

If you can think of any others that'd be great....I just don't want to piss anyone off yet.

Personally, I said things like osteopathic college, or doctor of osteopathy instead of saying medical. I wanted to rule out any possible speculation that I was copying/pasting, even though im not applying to MD school. I'm just paranoid.

And I think I said both doctor and physician in mine. It's how it flows, yo.

thanks! Osteopathic College unfortunately takes up more characters than medical school so I had to shorten graduate school to Grad School. Lol

I don't think "grad school" is the best term. "Medical school" works just fine, unless you're quoting the title of a particular school. Try to cut a couple of characters elsewhere, if possible.

oh sorry I forgot to add that I wasn't referring to DO/MD schools as grad school.....that was referring to where I got my masters at

Even so, CB is right. Saying grad school sounds unprofessional. Not worth the four characters.

Silly me, I was under the impression that DO schools are medical schools.

^ Well no duh....I wasn't asking that though. I was asking what they preferred to be called.

Oh, well it's a judgment call, then. Obviously some of us will think it's unprofessional. I said "graduate school" in mine, but I hadn't run out of characters...

Also, I tended to choose my term (DO/physician/osteopathic physician/doctor/medical school) based on flow. If it sounds ridiculous/trite/contrived/pompous to you, then it also might to whoever is reading it.

Also, it's always a good idea to tailor your essays to each school, even if the bulk is the same as you used in other schools' essays. They certainly wouldn't think you copied and pasted, either. 👍
